Embracing Our Mission

                 ~Shaping Our Future

                      ~Building Our Church

We are in the midst of a very exciting time in St. Joseph’s history.  In 2006 we started a capital campaign to build a church. This campaign, completed in 2011, raised slightly less than one-half of the estimated cost of the new church building.  Thus, we have embarked on the next phase of our journey with a second campaign to raise the additional funds.

Now, through hard work, we are at the threshold of breaking ground for the new building that will shape our future.  We are expecting to break ground in spring of 2013 and celebrate Mass in our new church by spring of 2014.

This building will be one in which the Christian community gathers to hear the word of God, to pray together, to receive the sacraments, and to celebrate the Eucharist as we build the body of Christ. It will be a sacred space – a special sign of the Pilgrim Church on earth.

In addition, we believe that the church will allow us to use the Parish Center for what it was intended – as a place to educate, minister, and celebrate each other as members of St. Joseph’s Catholic community.

We would ask that each parishioner pray, advocate, and pledge toward the success of the capital campaign and the building of our new church and of our community.  If you want to participate or have any questions, please contact Fred Genau at 301-694-6321 or the church office at 301-663-0907.

Through our combined participation and efforts, this dream will become a reality.  Thank you all for your support and prayers.
