All Souls Day Remembrances

All Souls envelopes are available in the narthex and in the October envelope packet for envelope contributors. Envelopes collected will be placed on the altar and those named on the envelopes will be remembered at Masses during the month of November. Please make sure that your envelope is dropped in the collection or sent to the parish office by the weekend of October 23-24 weekend in order for the names to be included in the bulletin. Envelopes that come in after that date but by October 29th can still be included in the novena. Please be sure to print clearly. The suggested donation is $10 per name.

The month of November in the Church is dedicated to the souls of the faithful departed. Traditionally at St. Joseph’s, we have created an Altar of Remembrance to honor and pray for our family and friends that have died. Beginning the weekend of October 30-31, we invite you to bring pictures of your loved one to place on this altar. Please do not bring irreplaceable pictures. Simply place your pictures on the altar. We will also have a Book of the Dead for you to inscribe the names of those who have died that you would like remembered in prayer. Please do not bring irreplaceable pictures. This will remain in place for the entire month of November.

Prayer for All Souls

Merciful Father,
hear our prayer and console us.
As we renew our faith in Your Son
whom You raised from the dead,
strengthen our hope
that all our departed brothers and sisters
will share in His resurrection,
who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen

Eternal Rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let the perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace. Amen
