Congratulations on the birth or upcoming birth of your child!   No matter the stage of parenting you are currently in, you have been entrusted with a great gift from God.  In your role as a parent, you will serve as the first and most influential teacher of your child’s faith.  St. Joseph’s seeks to help you in this role through weekly celebration of the Mass and offering the Sacrament of Baptism.

Scheduling a Baptism
Complete and submit a Baptism registration form to the parish office at office@sjcmmd.org.  Guidelines for selecting Godparents are on the back of the form.
Submit a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
Submit the Godparent forms/Christian Witness form.

Parents must be registered parishioners and have attended a Baptismal Preparation Class within the past four years before scheduling a baptism. You are encouraged to take the prep class before your child is born.

Baptism Preparation Sessions are held every other month on Tuesdays at 7-8: 30 pm in the Parish Center. Please see the current schedule below.

Although there is no fee for these classes, registration is required. Please call (301.663.0907) or email our Parish Office to register for the class or to schedule a baptism.
