The feast day of Ss. Charles Lwanga and Companions is June 3. Father Frazier has been wanting to invite the Choir from St. Bernardine’s in Baltimore to share their ministry with our parish (an ordination classmate of his was their pastor for many years). They were able to schedule a visit here close to June 3, so it seemed natural to combine their visit with a Mass to celebrate these saints, who are an amazing example of standing up for one’s faith against enormous opposition. So we invited this vibrant choir to lead our worship, and we will follow the Mass with a potluck supper featuring African foods as well as traditional favorites.
