Embracing Our Mission
~Shaping Our Future ~Building Our Church
We are in the midst of a very exciting time in the history of St. Joseph-on-Carrollton Manor parish!
- In 2006 we started a capital campaign to build a church. This campaign, completed in 2011, raised slightly less than half of the estimated cost of our new church building.
- Then we embarked on the next phase of our journey with a second campaign to raise the additional funds. We accepted the gracious offer of the Archdiocese of Baltimore to work hand-in-hand on a combined capital campaign to raise funds for our new church and for the greater good of the many ministries and missions of the Archdiocese through the “Embracing Our Mission” campaign.
- We held a groundbreaking ceremony on April 14, 2013, for the new building that will shape our future. Construction commenced, and now, 13 months later…
- We will celebrate Mass in our new church starting in May 2014!
This building will be one in which the Christian community gathers to hear the word of God, to pray together, to receive the sacraments, and to celebrate the Eucharist as we build the body of Christ. It will be a sacred space – a special sign of the Pilgrim Church on earth.
In addition, we believe that the church will allow us to use the Parish Center for what it was intended – as a place to educate, minister, and celebrate each other as members of St. Joseph’s Catholic community.
It is because of the combined participation and efforts, prayers, gifts, and energy of our parishioners that we have arrived at this point, and our dream is becoming reality. THANK YOU!
To continue our forward progress and to support the efforts of the Archdiocese of Baltimore that benefit tens of thousands of people, we encourage you to continue making your pledge gifts, directly to the Archdiocese, or using the envelope in your monthly packet. We appreciate your continuing support!
