Donor Recognition

A message from Father Frazier and our two capital campaign chairmen, Rich Lyons and Fred Genau, about recognition of donors to the new church fund:

There is so much excitement in the air as we watch the construction happening! Thank you to all who have contributed to one or both of our Capital Campaigns to get us to this point, and for your continuing gifts, which will get us to the completion of our new church.

In our first campaign, 2006-2011, we specified that donors who contributed at least $1,000 would be recognized on a “Tree of Life” to be installed in the new church. We raised $1.5 million, reaching half of our campaign goal. In 2011, a second campaign began, run jointly with the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Methods of recognition were not specified, although we strongly believe in the importance of acknowledging our generous contributors.

Over the past five years, the design of our new church has evolved, and it is now apparent that there is not enough space to install the “Tree of Life” as originally planned. Our design committee believes we can develop a more appropriate form of recognition with greater symbolism for our faith community, so we will not be using the “Tree of Life.” We are considering a variety of options. Whatever we choose, our goal is to recognize publicly and for always you who have given so much to this effort.

Again, we are most grateful for your gifts to our Capital Campaigns. As our plans to recognize your contributions come together, we will keep you informed. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please contact the parish office.

With deep appreciation to all who have pledged, we are delighted to report that as of 01/31/12, more than $750,000 has been pledged to the effort of the “Embracing Our Mission” campaign for Building Our Church!

We would like to reach our goal of $1.6 million in pledges by the end of February. This will enable us to break ground within a year.

In order to break ground for our new church, we must have $2.6 million. As of 12/31/11, our total is almost $2.3 million.

Please continue to pray for the success of this campaign, accept a call from a fellow parishioner about the campaign, and call Fred Genau at 301-694-6321 if you have any questions.

If you have made a pledge to our combined capital campaign~“Embracing Our Mission, Shaping Our Future, Building Our Church”~thank you! We are very grateful for your support!

Please remember to make your payments directly to the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Please don’t use the gold “Honoring Our Past” envelope found in your monthly packet of giving envelopes. Using the gold envelope will result in the gift not being applied to your pledge.

For questions about your pledge, you are welcome to call the Archdiocese Capital Campaign office at 410-547-5476.
