Ecumenical Thanksgiving Gathering

Sunday, November 22, 2015

We joined with Buckeystown-area churches to give thanks for our blessings and celebrate our joys! Thank you to all who participated.

We welcomed Rev. Cindy Caldwell of Buckeystown United Methodist Church and Rev. Andy Carr of Emmanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, who read scripture passages; and Rev. Dr. Rene Martin, the Episcopal chaplain for Buckingham’s Choice, who gave the message. Deacon Greg Rausch read the Gospel. Music ministers from St.Joseph’s and Buckeystown United Methodist Church led the music. A free will offering was taken for the Religious Coalition, and a reception followed the service for cookies and conversation with our neighbors.

We Christians bring peace and grace as a treasure to be offered to the world, but these gifts can bear fruit only when Christians live and work together in harmony. This makes it easier to contribute to building relations of respect and peaceful coexistence with those who belong to other religious traditions, and with non-believers. ~Pope Francis, Jun13
