St. Joseph’s is here to walk with you on your journey of faith from infant baptism through adulthood. Our parish Faith Formation programs begin with prayer and focus on scripture and Church teachings. Prayer, scripture, and Church teachings can relate to each of us in whatever stage of life we are in so that we can live out the JOY of the Gospel in our daily lives.
Did you know that growing in the knowledge of our faith is about more than learning the basics? It is even more about growing our relationship with God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Did you know that Jesus loves and delights in you and your family and longs to have a close relationship with you?
We are eager to help you and your family explore and find joy in growing in faith! Please join us for our Faith Formation programs!
Note: Due to COVID-19, all classes, meetings, etc. have been suspended. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.

Want to teach? Help? – We are always eager to welcome more people to support each other and our children on our faith journey! If you are interested in sharing your gifts by being a lead catechist, an assistant, a substitute, a class parent, helping out with retreats or special projects, or helping in the office, please click the appropriate link below. You will be amazed at what the Lord can do through you if you just give Him a chance!
Did you know? Every lead and assistant catechist will receive free tuition for one child. So if two parents teach, two of their children attend for free!
Attendance: Your child’s faith formation is important! One way to communicate the importance of our relationship with Jesus is attendance in class. Only three unexcused absences will be allowed in a given year. If your child has more than three unexcused absences, he or she will be unprepared and unable to receive the Sacraments that or the following year (whichever applies).
Bad Weather Cancellation: St. Joseph follows the Frederick County Public Schools. If schools are closed or close early due to inclement weather then our program is canceled.
Faith Formation is more than learning facts and information about God.
Faith Formation is applying the knowledge we gain toward developing a relationship with Jesus as his disciples…and ultimately to becoming saints. (Yes, that is Jesus’ desire for all his followers, not just a chosen few).
This is accomplished through prayer, studying Scripture and church teachings, and sharing our personal faith stories.
It is through the bonds of community and friendship
that we journey together in our understanding of what it means to be God’s children, to lift each other in prayer, and to offer support in times of need.
Our Faith Formation Staff is Eager to Help!
