Congratulations on the birth or upcoming birth of your child! No matter the stage of parenting you are currently in, you have been entrusted with a great gift from God. In your role as a parent, you serve as the first and most influential teacher of your child’s faith. St. Joseph will help prepare you for this role which starts with Baptism and continues until your child receives Confirmation.
Scheduling a Baptism
- Complete and submit a Baptism registration form to the parish office at office@sjcmmd.org. Guidelines for selecting Godparents are on the back of the form.
- Submit a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
- Submit the Godparent form/Christian Witness form for each Godparent.
Parents must be registered parishioners and have attended a Baptismal Preparation Class within the past four years before scheduling a baptism. You are encouraged to take the prep class before your child is born.
Baptism Preparation Sessions are held every other month on Tuesdays at 7-8: 30 pm either via zoom or at the parish office complex. Although there is no fee for these classes, registration is required. Please call (301.663.0907) or email our Parish Office to register for the class or to schedule a Baptism.
