For food assistance contact us at theParish Office.
Our Food Bank depends on your weekly donations to support this outreach. The following items are in need: canned fruits, vegetables, beans, chili, stews; cereal, oatmeal, boxed potatoes, rice, pasta sauce, juice, desserts, tuna, regular pasta, macaroni and cheese, pasta salad, flavored pasta, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly. The breezeway doors at St. Joe’s are now open Monday-Friday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, for drop off of food donations. Please leave donations in the donation boxes marked “Peace and Social Justice Ministry.” Your thoughtfulness and generosity are truly appreciated.
In addition to food donations, there are other community-wide needs. The Department of Social Services is in need of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes for front-line workers that go out into the community and into homes. These workers include both the Child Welfare Social Workers and the In-Home Aides for Adult Services. Additionally, diapers, baby wipes, and formula are greatly needed. Families, especially those who are uninsured and are not eligible for either the stimulus funds or unemployment benefits, are being hit even harder by this crisis.
Donations can also be made directly to Social Services by contacting Melissa Myers at Melissa.firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment.
